MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year, entry-level contract (2019-20 and 2020-21) with defenseman Otto Leskinen.

The 5'11'' and 187 lbs defenseman led his team's defensemen in goals (8), assists (23) and points (31) in 57 games with the Finnish Liiga's KalPa Kuopio in 2018-19. Leskinen, 22, tied for second on the team in assists and fourth in points. He also served 34 penalty minutes.
Leskinen played 178 career games with Kuopio since making his professional debut in 2015-16. The Pieksämäki, Finland native has recorded totals of 55 points (11 goals, 44 assists) and 66 penalty minutes. He added two points (1-1-2) in 20 career playoff contests.
An undrafted free agent, Leskinen participated in the latest Canadiens' development camp in June 2018.
